Having returned from Sydney to her home town of Brisbane, artist Tess Parker reentered the local scene by creating a piece for the last exhibition at West End art space, The Box. We met after I bought her artwork and shortly after decided to do an exhibition together. The result was HOLY SPOILS – a fitting word for each artist with opposing styles, yet the show was a cohesive exploration of identity and reassessing value structures, perceptions and reputations. The one night only pop-up show was held at BoxVintage, hosted by owner of the former space The Box.
